From March 19–23, 2025, the 51st Miami Pediatric Nephrology Seminar convened at the Hyatt Regency in Miami, FL, in conjunction with the Pediatric Nephrology Research Consortium (PNRC) Spring Meeting—marking the first-ever joint event between these two organizations, well known amongst the pediatric nephrology community. This landmark collaboration brought together more than 200 participants, including more than 60 trainees, from over 50 institutions across 22 countries in a dynamic hybrid format. This year’s event expanded its impact by integrating the robust research and training mission of the PNRC, offering attendees a unique blend of scientific innovation, clinical insight, and cross-disciplinary discussion. Kudos to the amazing faculty who taught all attendees and devoted special time to our trainees!
In addition, trainee career development was a central component of the multi-day program including the Inaugural ASPN-PNRC First Year Fellows Workshop, attended by 25 of the 40 first year fellows in Pediatric Nephrology, who received clinical research training and career development sessions; attended the PNRC meeting and Miami Pediatric Nephrology Seminar, as well as bonding together in beautiful Miami during a productive 5-day retreat. We believe this important trainee programming can aid in their personal and academic development, and also contribute to addressing the critical need to build and sustain the pediatric nephrology workforce. Plans are already underway to similarly host the next cohort of first-year pediatric nephrology fellows in Miami in 2026!
