We are excited to announce that several ASPN committees are currently seeking dedicated members to join as Co-Chairs. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in guiding the future of pediatric nephrology and contribute to our vibrant community. Below, we have outlined the available Co-Chair positions and their responsibilities.
Certification Committee:
- Develop a new MOC Part 4 QI project- Improving Pediatric Nephrologists Professional Well-being and Engagement in ASPN.
- Explore new MOC opportunities and share information on current opportunities
Clinical Affairs Committee:
- Organize mini webinars or podcasts on common clinical care topics.
- Continue quarterly webinars.
- Update the CAC website for easier access to support materials like templates for prior authorization letters.
JEDI Committee:
- Plan an in-person JEDI-focused gathering at ASN/PAS.
- Collaborate with other subcommittees (Workforce, Global Health, Advocacy) on joint initiatives.
- Relaunch the EDI-specific calendar and notify members of events and holidays.
Membership Committee:
- Ensure a diverse, sustainable, and robust pediatric nephrology workforce by creating and maintaining robust tools and data practices to inform understanding of our contemporary workforce needs.
- ACTION: Collect DEI and other society demographics
- Position ASPN to be the leading voice of pediatric nephrology by collaborating with external organizations to enhance ASPN’s profile.
- ACTION: Collaborate with American Board of Pediatrics to access centers that consistently have residents go into Nephrology. This could offer us an opportunity to target for discussion; maybe reaching out to those Pediatric Residency Program Directors as well.
