ABP News Release

Today, the ABP announced approval of a competency-based training model approach using entrustable professional activities (EPAs) in two-year clinically oriented fellowship programs.

ASPN has had a dedicated group working since Summer 2025 to explore what a competency-based fellowship model could look like for pediatric nephrology and to begin outlining training goals. Over the course of the next year, this group will continue to work closely with the ABP and all invested parties to facilitate the successful implementation of the proposed changes.
