The Academic Pediatric Association’s New Century Scholars (NCS) Resident Mentoring Program is now accepting applications for the 2027 cohort! We would greatly appreciate your help in sharing this opportunity with eligible residents at your institution.
The NCS Program is designed to foster greater representation and opportunity in academic pediatrics by supporting residents who are interested in pursuing careers in academic medicine. Through individualized mentorship, networking opportunities, leadership development, and professional guidance, the program helps prepare the next generation of leaders in academic pediatrics.
Eligible applicants include:
- Second-year pediatric residents
- Third-year medicine-pediatrics (med/peds) residents
- Future chief residents (third-year categorical pediatrics or fourth-year med/peds residents)
Application Deadline: September 15, 2026
NCS Information Session
We invite prospective applicants to join our New Century Scholars Resident Mentoring Program Information Session on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 8:00 PM ET. This free virtual session will provide an overview of the program, application process, and mentoring experience. Registration is required.
