Introduction

I am a pediatric nephrologist at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, where I serve as the Program Director for the Pediatric Residency and the Medical Director for Dialysis. I completed my pediatric residency training before going on to fellowship in pediatric nephrology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Clinical and Research Interests

Clinically, I love caring for children with chronic kidney disease and supporting families through complex journeys. My research interests focus on pediatric hypertension, with an emphasis on improving diagnosis and management strategies for children.

Biggest Accomplishments in the Past Year

One of my proudest accomplishments has been stepping into the role of Program Director for the Pediatric Residency at Helen DeVos and serving as the Medical Director for Dialysis. These opportunities allow me to help shape both the next generation of pediatricians and the quality of care we deliver to children with kidney disease.

What I Love About My Job

I love working with kids who have chronic disease—helping them and their families find resilience and joy despite difficult challenges. I also love inspiring residents to pursue careers in nephrology; over the past five years, eight of our residents have chosen nephrology, which has been incredibly rewarding.

Fun Fact

I genuinely love mowing my lawn—it’s one of my favorite ways to relax and reset.
