I am honoring Barry Warshaw with resident travel grants in his name. This is appropriate given Barry’s incredible dedication to teaching. He has had pivotal roles in our residency program and started our fellowship program at Emory almost 20 years ago. Barry is also the founder of pediatric nephrology in Georgia, having initiated both chronic dialysis and pediatric kidney transplantation in 1980. Finally, Barry has been an extraordinary mentor and role model for medical students, residents, fellows and faculty, including me. Barry plans to retire next year, and it is challenging to envision our program without him.
