Call for Interest: Pediatric Hyperphosphatemia Quality Measure Focus Group

Call for Interest: Pediatric Hyperphosphatemia Quality Measure Focus Group

Earlier this year, our group at the University of Michigan Kidney Epidemiology and Cost Center (UM-KECC) developed a quality measure for chronic hyperphosphatemia in adult dialysis patients with the assistance of a Technical Expert Panel. We were unsuccessful in our attempts to recruit pediatric representation for this process. However, we remain motivated to create a pediatric version of the hyperphosphatemia measure and intend to convene a focus group of pediatric providers and stakeholders to seek input about use of the adult measure (intact or modified) in the pediatric dialysis population. There is opportunity to modify the measure, if needed, to better suit pediatric dialysis patient needs.

We are seeking participation from the following:

  • Pediatric nephrologists
  • Pediatric kidney dietitians
  • Parents or care partners of pediatric dialysis patients

The focus group will meet virtually for 2–3 sessions in January and February 2024. Your expertise and insights will be instrumental in shaping this quality measure.

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the form below to provide your contact information. We look forward to your input and collaboration in this important initiative.
