Honoring Dr. Blanche Chavers
This donation is in recognition of Dr. Blanche Chavers and her years of service to the Division of Pediatric Nephrology at the University of Minnesota. She has been a mentor for me personally and to countless fellows and faculty over the years. Michelle Rheault, MD
Honoring Dr. Barry Warshaw
I am honoring Barry Warshaw with resident travel grants in his name. This is appropriate given Barry’s incredible dedication to teaching. He has had pivotal roles in our residency program and started our fellowship program at Emory almost 20 years ago. Barry is also the founder of pediatric nephrology in Georgia, having initiated both chronic dialysis and pediatric kidney transplantation in 1980. Finally, Barry has been an extraordinary mentor and role model for medical students, residents, fellows and faculty, including me. Barry plans to retire next year, and it is challenging to envision our program without him. Larry Greenbaum, MD, PhD, FAAP
Honoring Dr. Marcela Del Rio
We are honored to submit a contribution in recognition of Dr. Marcela Del Rio for the APSN Honor Your Colleague Initiative. Dr. Del Rio is an exceptional pediatric nephrologist whose clinical excellence, deep compassion for her patients, and dedication to mentoring the next generation have left a lasting impact on the field. Sincerely, Her Colleagues and Mentees
Honor your colleague campaign: Support the ASPN Foundation
Throughout the year, the ASPN Foundation is honoring our colleagues in pediatric nephrology and highlighting our amazing community!
Do you have a mentor, fellow, or team member whom you’d like to show your appreciation to? Consider making a donation to the ASPN Foundation in their name to mark career milestones, birthdays, retirements, or just because they’re an amazing colleague. Have a special advocate in your life who has supported your work? Make a donation in their name and share with us why they’re so special. While not required, we’d like to share a few sentences of why you are making the donation and post it on the ASPN Foundation website (e.g., “Dr. Susan Smith mentored me early in my career and provided me with invaluable guidance and support. I’d like to thank and honor her at the time of her retirement.”)
Not sure where to start? Here are a couple of examples:
- To show your appreciation of your colleague, you or you and a group of colleagues (combine donations) could donate, $3,000 to name a three-year travel award for them and share your appreciation for their contribution to pediatric nephrology! The resident will receive the “Susan Smith ASPN Travel Grant” and be encouraged to send a note of thanks to your colleague.
- In honor of a colleague’s birthday, make a donation to the John E Lewy Fund in their name and share with us why advocacy is important to them or how they inspire you to be an advocate in pediatric nephrology!
The minimum donation is $1,000.
Single Donor: If one person is making the entire donation, make your donation here or using the button below.
Multiple Donors: If you have a group combining donations, contact the ASPN Office, info@aspheph.org, to request a link that you can share with all of the donors.
