Overview of Maintenance of Certification (MOC)<\/a> Expand<\/i><\/a><\/p>\r\n

MOC is a four-part requirement to maintain your board certification, tracked and monitored by the ABP. Your MOC cycle, metrics, and deadlines are outlined on the ABP website in your portfolio.<\/p>\r\n

Part 1 (Professional Standing):<\/strong> Maintain a valid, unrestricted medical license in the USA or Canada.<\/li>\r\n
Part 2 (Lifelong Learning & Self-Assessment):<\/strong> Earn 50 CME points every 5 years.<\/li>\r\n
Part 3 (Cognitive Expertise):<\/strong> Complete quarterly MOCA questions or pass a proctored exam once per cycle.<\/li>\r\n

Part 4 (Improving Health & Healthcare):<\/strong> Participate in quality improvement projects, earning 50 points every 5 years.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
Part 2 and Part 4 points apply across all board certifications.<\/p>\r\n
