SUMMARY:Advancements in Idiopathic Nephrotic Syndrome: Updates on Clinical Trial Data and Management
DESCRIPTION:Buffet Dinner: 5:45 PM – 6:15 PM ET\nSymposium: 6:15 PM – 7:45 PM ET\nOmni Boston Hotel at the Seaport \n450 Summer St\nBoston\, MA 02210\nEnsemble Ballroom B\n\nProgram Overview\nChildhood idiopathic nephrotic syndrome (INS)\, the most common pediatric glomerular disease\, is associated with high treatment-related morbidity. Although most patients attain remission with corticosteroid therapy\, a subset experience frequently relapsing NS (FRNS) or steroid-dependent NS (SDNS)\, creating a complex and challenging treatment scenario requiring consideration of steroid-sparing strategies that are not without adverse effects. This symposium will review current guidelines for FRNS and SDNS\, examine emerging clinical trial data on anti-CD20 therapies—including rituximab and investigational agents such as obinutuzumab—and address real-world treatment challenges through clinical case scenarios presented by our expert faculty. \nLearning Objectives\nUpon completion of this activity\, participants should be able to: \n\nOutline the current guidelines for the treatment of FRNS and SDNS\nAnalyze the latest clinical trial data for emerging anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody agents for the treatment of FRNS and SDNS\nIndividualize treatment of FRNS and SDNS\n\nAgenda\n\nWelcome and Introductions\nOverview of FRNS and SDNS: Diagnostic Criteria and Immunology of INS\nTreatment Challenges in INS Relapse: Applying Current Guidelines and Recommendations\nSteroid-Sparing Agents in FRNS and SDNS: Clinical Data and Practice Considerations\nCurrent and Emerging Anti-CD20 Therapies in FRNS and SDNS: Review of the Evidence\nFaculty Discussion and Conclusions\n\nLearn More & Register: Advancements in Idiopathic Nephrotic Syndrome: Updates on Clinical Trial Data and Management

SUMMARY:Kidney Genetics - Genetic Testing Re-evaluation and Optimizing Variant Interpretation
DESCRIPTION:Genetic Testing Re-evaluation and Optimizing Variant Interpretation \nGenetic testing is an iterative process that evolves alongside advancements in genomic medicine. In this webinar\, Dr. Courtney Giannini and Dr. Sarah Nelson-Taylor from Children’s Hospital Colorado will discuss the clinical necessity of routine genetic testing re-evaluation\, with a particular emphasis on the re-analysis of Variants of Uncertain Significance (VUSs). The presenters will demonstrate how close collaboration between clinical providers\, medical genetics specialists\, and an in-house precision diagnostics lab enhances variant interpretation. Attendees will gain insights into how integrated institutional partnerships can effectively translate evolving genetic data into clear\, actionable clinical outcomes. \nSpeaker: \n\nCourtney Giannini\, Children’s Hospital Colorado\nSarah Nelson-Taylor\, Children’s Hospital Colorado\n\nYour browser does not support HTML5 video.

SUMMARY:NIH - Advancing Fetal Health: Identifying Research Gaps in Prenatal Screening\, Diagnosis and Treatment
DESCRIPTION:The goal of the meeting is to catalyze transformative progress in prenatal care by identifying critical research gaps in screening\, diagnosis\, and treatment. Through interdisciplinary dialogue and expert input\, the meeting aims to advance innovation\, strengthen patient-centered approaches\, and improve outcomes for pregnant individuals and their fetuses\, ultimately moving the field of fetal medicine forward. \nThe meeting will feature four sessions spanning the continuum of fetal care\, with presentations by leading experts in the field. Each session will be chaired by Dr. William H. Peranteau\, Dr. Michael Talkowski\, Dr. Ramesh Papanna\, and Dr. Meredith Atkinson\, who will guide discussions across key scientific and clinical domains. \nDiscussions will address emerging cell and molecular therapies for fetal genetic diseases; advances in prenatal screening and diagnostic technologies; current and evolving fetal interventions for structural birth defects; and clinical decision-making and outcomes across prenatal and postnatal care. \nThis meeting is a collaborative effort among the NICHD branches of Pregnancy and Perinatology\, Obstetric and Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics\, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities\, and Developmental Biology and Congenital Anomalies. \nLearn more and Register: https://web.cvent.com/event/b7983cfe-c6f2-44fb-ab7b-c112ef222d11/summary
