Umans MD\, PhD \nDr. Jason Umans is Associate Professor of Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynecology at Georgetown University. He received both his PhD in Pharmacology and Biomathematics and his MD from Cornell. He completed a residency in medicine and a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Chicago. His research has been continuously grant supported for >30 years.   He leads mentored career development programs for the Georgetown-Howard Universities Center for Clinical and Translational Science and has mentored >30 postdoctoral and junior faculty colleagues to funded research independence. \nSusan R. Mendley\, MD \nDr. Susan Mendley is a Program Director and Scientific Advisor of the Division of Kidney\, Urology\, & Hematologic Diseases\, NIDDK/NIH. Dr. Mendley was Chief of the Division of Pediatric Nephrology\, University of Maryland prior to joining NIH in 2017. Her current portfolio includes research related to acute and chronic kidney diseases that affect children\, including the Pediatric Centers of Excellence in Nephrology\, as well as basic\, translational and clinical research in adult chronic kidney disease\, dialysis\, and transplantation. She also oversees clinical and translational research in polycystic kidney disease\, including the Polycystic Kidney Disease Research Resource Consortium. She is the Executive Secretary of the Kidney Interagency Coordinating Committee which was established by Congress in 1987 to encourage cooperation\, communication\, and collaboration among all Federal agencies involved in kidney research and other kidney disease-related activities. \nDebbie Gipson\, MD\, MS \nDr. Debbie Gipson is a Program Director and Scientific Advisor of the Division of Kidney\, Urology\, & Hematologic Diseases at NIDDK/NIH. At NIH her portfolio includes clinical trials\, observational\, translational\, and basic research in kidney and urologic disease. Dr. Gipson received her master’s degree in Epidemiology from the University of Washington\, where she also completed her pediatric nephrology fellowship training. Dr. Gipson was a faculty member and tenured Professor at the University of Michigan from 2009-2023 prior to joining the NIH.  She has over 20 years of experience as an NIH funded investigator and in research program development\, management and evaluation at institutional\, national and multi-national levels.
