The Division of Pediatric Nephrology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and the UMass Memorial Health Care (UMMHC) System is recruiting a part time Pediatric Nephrologist in a job-sharing arrangement with an experienced pediatric nephrologist. We seek a physician clinician/educator or scientist. Clinical responsibilities will include inpatient consultations, ambulatory clinic sessions and on-call coverage. The candidate would join a division with two pediatric nephrologists and a pediatric nephrology nurse clinical specialist. The pediatric nephrology division at UMass is a collaborative team that provides outstanding patient and family centered care to children with kidney disease and hypertension in central Massachusetts. The division offers pediatric dialysis and kidney transplant in collaboration with the adult dialysis and transplant services at UMMHC. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience. Opportunities for part time clinical work in other pediatric clinical areas could be considered in conjunction with this position.

UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center (CMC) is the only tertiary health care facility for infants, children, and adolescents in Central New England and serves a diverse demographic patient population. We house more than 30 pediatric specialty services, 30 bed inpatient pediatric unit, 10 bed PICU, 49 bed NICU, dedicated pediatric emergency department and a Level 1 trauma center.

REQUIREMENTS: BOARD CERTIFIED/BOARD ELIGIBLE IN PEDIATRIC NEPHROLOGY AND POSSESS OUTSTANDING CLINICAL SKILLS. THE CANDIDATE MUST HAVE A STRONG INTEREST IN CLINICAL CARE AND TEACHING AND A TRACK RECORD OF ACADEMIC PRODUCTIVITY. CANDIDATES WITH FUNDED RESEARCH ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.
